COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Bahrain Labour Law in the Private Sector No. (23) of 1976 was enacted and introduced many amendments for the benefit of the working class, considering the interests of employers in some cases. The law contains a set of legal rules which cannot be agreed on violating it between the worker and the employer, and the complementary regulations that can be decided on breaking it.
As a result of a large number of labour cases under consideration by the Bahraini courts, the Bahraini judiciary has established many legal principles, particularly those issued by the Bahraini Court of Cassation. These principles were considered as complementary to the shortcomings of the Labour Law. The Decree-Law No. (33) of 2002 concerning trade unions as a pioneering product of the King’s reform project to make the Kingdom of Bahrain in the ranks of the developed countries in the field of workers’ welfare taking in consideration to not detriment the employers.
